From slavery to success

Thanksgiving came early to this tiny town outside Statesboro where cotton dots the landscape and a hand lettered sign on the main road calls out, "We buy pecans." But it wasn't turkey and dressing that made Saturday a day to be savored. It was the legacy of family.
