The exhibition “More than a Name: Commemorating Bulloch County’s African American Fallen Soldiers of the First World War” aims to grant Bulloch County’s fallen African Americans the place they deserve in the community’s collective memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War.

BURYING INEQUALITy:
African American Funeral Directors of Bulloch County

The exhibit "Burying Inequality: African American Funeral Directors in Bulloch County" highlights how African American funeral directors in the Jim Crow South gained economic power, social prestige, and played a vital role in the Civil Rights Movement. Their businesses, including funeral homes, shaped their communities and evolved over time, leaving a lasting legacy.
